Cap Tan Ro’geers was a founding member of the Mistborn, a veteran of the Crimson Company, and later Stadtholder of Asnorland. His rise from a member of the Reds to ruler of Asnorland was one of the defining developments of the Asnor Succession War of 8723 SE.

Cap spent much of 8722 traveling with Gobbles, Mist, and Whittaker Morganna on Crimson Company contracts and investigations. Their work included attacks near Fellstrond, the first encounters with the Sahuagin and the relics later identified as the Teeth of Sekorath, the evacuation and defense of Bregentved, and the investigation that eventually cleared Whittaker of the crime for which he had been sentenced to the Reds.

After the death of Mist, Cap continued with Gobbles, Whittaker, and Sazed. The group traveled to Inis Cailean while searching for the lost Mantle of Rektesh. In a cavern beneath the island, Cap entered an ancient proving ground associated with Rektesh and defeated the guardian set before him. He emerged as a bearer capable of attuning to the Mantle, an event that transformed both his personal standing and the developing succession crisis.

During the conflict with Ulrik Lindvig, Cap became the focus of a coalition that included Ornolf Varsson, Dandod Herfsson, Kodiak Popo, and allies among the Skyre Folk. He helped retake Vrungend, fought through the campaigns that culminated in the Siege of Aalund, and was formally installed as Stadtholder on Rekven, 17th of Zacaver, 8723 SE. His role in the ceremony is described in Installation of the Stadtholder.

Cap continued adventuring with the Mistborn after assuming the Stadtholdership. Their later campaign against the Nharvek arcanist Zurath’ek led to the Apotheosis Attempt at Cinderfold. During the confrontation, Zurath’ek seized the Mantle of Rektesh from Cap and escaped with it to the Realm of Winds.
