The Mistborn were an adventuring company active principally in the Skyre Islands during 8722 and 8723 SE. The group emerged from a band of members of the Crimson Company and became involved in events far beyond the ordinary contracts of the Reds, including the recovery of the Mantle of Rektesh, the Asnor Succession War of 8723 SE, and the conflict with the Nharvek arcanist Zurath’ek.
The original company consisted of Cap Tan Ro’geers, Gobbles, Mist, and Whittaker Morganna. Their early work carried them throughout Asnorland on monster hunts and investigations. After Mist was killed at the Pool of Eternal Spring while helping save Lurae, the group buried him near Cain Tiarnach. Sazed, a Dantari encountered there shortly afterward, joined the surviving members and remained with them through the succession war and the later campaign against Zurath’ek.
The name Mistborn was adopted in memory of Mist. By the end of 8723 SE, the group had become closely connected to the new political order in Asnorland: Cap was Stadtholder, Whittaker was Jarl of Bregentved, and the company had helped establish alliances among Asnor rulers, the Skyre Folk, and the College Arcanum. Their later struggle with Zurath’ek carried beyond Kor Sirok after his escape from Cinderfold with the Mantle of Rektesh and relocation to the Realm of Winds.
A fuller account of the company’s activities is preserved in Mistborn Campaign Chronicle.
