Sazed was a Dantari scholar and adventurer who joined the Mistborn shortly after the death of Mist in 8723 SE. He joined the group after Mist’s burial near Cain Tiarnach and remained one of the company’s core members through the rest of its known adventures.

Sazed combined formidable physical ability with extensive magical and scholarly knowledge. He accompanied Cap Tan Ro’geers, Gobbles, and Whittaker Morganna during the expedition beneath Nozur’s tower, where the group discovered a hidden Nharvek complex and rescued Nozur from several aberrant arcanists. He later joined the expedition to Inis Cailean that recovered the Mantle of Rektesh and personally proved himself in the arena of the temple of Rektesh when the group returned to occupied Vrungend.

During the Asnor Succession War of 8723 SE, Sazed helped infiltrate the palace, free imprisoned members of the Crimson Company, and restore Cap after he was badly wounded. He accompanied the coalition through the campaigns at Aalund and Hammerheim and stood beside Cap at the Installation of the Stadtholder. In that ceremony, surviving accounts present Sazed as a keeper of history.

After the war, Sazed became one of the Mistborn’s principal researchers into Zurath’ek. He investigated Nharvek lore, helped locate Zurath’ek’s old stronghold near Dulthapplas, and participated in the expedition to the Great Library on Danto that studied earlier attempts at apotheosis. He also helped trace the Teeth of Sekorath to a submerged temple in the Ogestead Gulf. Sazed was present at the Apotheosis Attempt at Cinderfold, where the Mistborn disrupted Zurath’ek’s ritual but failed to prevent his escape with the Mantle of Rektesh.
