The Sahuagin are an amphibious people found in the deeper coastal waters and submerged regions around the Skyre Islands and neighboring seas. They are adapted to life beneath the surface and maintain communities in reefs, trenches, drowned caverns, and other places difficult for land-dwelling peoples to reach.

Sahuagin populations vary considerably by region. Their skin commonly falls within dark blue, green, gray, or slate tones, and most possess webbed hands and feet together with sensory adaptations suited to dim water. Communities often organize themselves around extended shoals whose territories may shift with currents, migration, food supply, and political pressure rather than following the fixed borders familiar to surface states.

Sekorath Cults

Surface accounts from the early 8720s SE strongly associate the Sahuagin with the worship of Sekorath because the Crimson Company and Mistborn repeatedly encountered militant cults devoted to him.

Several militant Sahuagin communities in the Ogestead Gulf and waters surrounding Asnorland were devoted to Sekorath, an ancient predatory sea power they regarded as worthy of divine reverence. These cults sought the Teeth of Sekorath, forty relics believed capable of assisting Sekorath’s return. Their campaign brought them into repeated conflict with the Mistborn, who eventually recovered the relics from a submerged temple and defeated a major Sahuagin assault on Bregentved.

Sashara, a servant of Maritana, described the crisis in terms of particular Sahuagin custodians, cults, and relics. Her account distinguishes Sekorath’s followers from other shoals and sea peoples active in the same waters.
