Notes

Kada joined his companions with severe gaps in his memory after awakening on a shore near Arkrist. His recovered fragments point toward an elven sanctuary in or near the Hercynian Forest, where he trained with his cousin Faelar Birchhold and several druidic mentors. The sanctuary’s central image in his memories is an ancient banyan called Galadh Ernil, the Heart Tree, associated with a persistent blue light and a hidden relic.

Kada initially concealed the full extent of his amnesia from the other adventurers. Over time he shared more of what he remembered, particularly with Xanthos and Korth. Dreams and recovered memories suggest that the sanctuary was attacked or corrupted and that Faelar’s fate remains uncertain.

His druidic magic and skill as a healer have repeatedly kept the group alive during extended expeditions. Kada also formed a bond with a summoned spectral squirrel companion known as Nibbles, which he has used for scouting and distraction as well as companionship.

During the Phalanx’s passage through the Inner Ring of Khaz’Vel’Tor, unstable magic permanently increased Kada’s height to roughly seven feet. The same period demonstrated a broader instability around his spellcasting, with later surges temporarily producing far stranger transformations during the infiltration of Zar’Malek’s hoard.

Kada’s concern with ecological balance became especially important during the Singoria contract. After discovering that the beasts attacking farms had been displaced by expanding settlement and by enormous burrowing predators farther south, he helped the Phalanx eliminate the predators rather than simply destroy the displaced animals. On the return from Thunderwake, he also proposed using Plant Growth cooperatively with farmers around Arkrist in exchange for a share of the increased yield, an idea Monty agreed to explore with local landholders.
