Notes

Lucious is closely associated with the College Arcanum and studies the apotheosis of Abendigo. Abendigo’s transformation from mortal gnome to god convinced Lucious that apotheosis is a process that can be studied rather than treated only as an incomprehensible miracle. That interest places him naturally at the intersection of arcane scholarship, divine history, and dangerous questions about the limits of mortal transformation.

During the Arkrist investigations, Lucious worked closely with Magister Heldyssa Shadowfall. Through her he discovered hidden draconic structures beneath College property and encountered the dragon Lyandriegosa, who warned him about the imprisoned shadow dragon Xumanon and marked him with a draconic sigil associated with preserving the prison.

Lucious frequently serves as the Phalanx’s principal arcane investigator. He has studied Starshine, ancient machinery in the Cliffside Temple, the psionic artifacts recovered from the Gulf of Keravnos, and the dwarven systems of Khaz’Vel’Tor. He also refined Starshine into an experimental distillate, continuing a pattern of treating dangerous magical phenomena as subjects to be understood through controlled experimentation.

That approach led directly to Serathiel Quorr. Quorr had spent decades studying temporal magic associated with Abendigo and disappeared into a private extradimensional laboratory after believing his life’s work was nearly complete. The Phalanx recovered Quorr’s body from the fractured study and found his final note, which contained only the underlined word “MISLED.” Lucious nevertheless succeeded where the others could not in claiming Quorr’s completed chronomantic spellbook, The Chronesthesion, and now carries the most important surviving result of Quorr’s research.
