Quorr’s Extradimensional Study was the private laboratory of Serathiel Quorr, a College Arcanum scholar who spent decades researching temporal magic associated with Abendigo. The space was reached through a pocket-watch gateway and was designed to isolate dangerous chronomantic experiments from ordinary surroundings.
By the time the Drakefire Phalanx entered the study in 2026, its internal systems had become badly unstable. Gravity behaved unpredictably, arrivals separated by only seconds outside could occur nearly a minute apart within the study, and vast gears, floating debris, broken pathways, and portal chambers surrounded a central clocktower.
The study contained several specialized systems. One chamber used a celestial hourglass to regulate temporal flow, another manipulated spatial relationships within the portal network, and an observatory-like complex controlled a powerful magical barrier around a sealed library. The Phalanx also encountered crystalline entities adapted to the local temporal instability and a damaged golden temporal construct whose missing arm appeared connected to the failing machinery.
Lowering the library barrier exposed Quorr’s corpse and The Chronesthesion, his completed life’s work. It also coincided with the arrival of an unidentified man wearing a suit and fedora. The figure could not be struck normally, referred to the Phalanx as “interference,” summoned hostile entities and constructs, and calmly recorded the confrontation in a notebook before eventually withdrawing.
Quorr’s final note contained only MISLED. The study therefore remains important not only as an example of advanced mortal chronomancy but as evidence that Quorr’s last experiments may have interacted with an outside intelligence or principle he did not understand.
