Thulman Stormtale is a dwarf who lives in the wetlands and savannah country outside Singoria. He is deeply familiar with the local ecology and maintains an unusual degree of trust with the large feathered reptiles that nest there.
When the Drakefire Phalanx investigated repeated attacks on farms outside Singoria, Thulman explained that the animals were not conducting organized raids under anyone’s control. Expanding irrigation and settlement had damaged their nesting grounds, while enormous burrowing predators farther south prevented the displaced animals from moving into otherwise suitable territory.
Thulman helped the Phalanx understand the larger ecological problem and agreed that removing the southern predators could allow the raptors to relocate without further conflict with the farms. After the party killed the two creatures, he began guiding the displaced animals into the newly available habitat.
His involvement changed the outcome of the contract from an extermination of the visible threat into an attempt to restore the conditions that had previously kept the surrounding wildlife and farms apart.
